IRID’16 | Innovative Research and Industrial Dialogue
IRID’16 is the inaugural research day hosted by the Advanced Manufacturing Centre (AMC) of the Faculty of Manufacturing Engineering, UTeM.
IRID aims to offer post-graduate students as well researchers and engineers from industry, especially in the field of engineering and technology, a unique platform to present their research findings, establish a mutual knowledge transfer and networking.
Through IRID, ideas and solutions to the problems and needs of the local industry can be shared, thus bridging the gap between university and industry in Malaysia.

For Research Showcase, prospective authors are kindly invited to submit their 2-pages extended abstract. All submitted extended abstracts will be peer reviewed and evaluated based on originality, research content, correctness, relevance to the topics, and readability.

GUIDELINES FOR EXTENDED ABSTRACT
- The extended abstract should be written in English (including figures, tables and references).
- The extended abstract should be 2 pages length.
- The extended abstract should be prepared in Microsoft Word format by using the template given below.
- The extended abstract must be submitted online via This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. by 15th October 2016.
- Please name the file according to your paper title.
All submitted extended abstract will be peer reviewed and evaluated based on the following criteria:
- Originality
- Content
- Correctness
- Relevance to the topic
- Readability
All accepted extended abstract should be revised based on Reviewers Comment and re-submitted to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. for Online Proceedings publication and MUST be presented via Poster Presentation during IRID'16.
GUIDELINES FOR POSTER PRESENTATION
Poster presentation session in conjunction with IRID’16 provides a platform for the postgraduate students to present and discuss their on- going research or work. During this session, the presenters have to stand next to their poster to explain their poster and answer questions from the judging panel. The time allotted for this session is 10 minutes. Each poster presentation will be evaluated by ONE academic panel and ONE industrial panel for consideration of the ‘IRID’16 BEST POSTER AWARD’. Posters will remain displayed during the entire event and can be viewed during the refreshment and lunch breaks.
Award will be given to the best TEN posters. The following are the criteria for the best poster:
- Originality of the research
- Scientific quality (literature, methodology, results, discussion and conclusion)
- Presentation quality of the poster (visual and author’s presentation)
The presenters are advised to go through the poster evaluation form for the references and preparation of the poster. The award will be announced during the closing event of the IRID’16.

The e-book will be published online via Advanced Manufacturing Centre (AMC) website at http://amc.utem.edu.my and submitted for indexing by Thomson Reuters (ISI).
